In an outstanding hilltop location overlooking the Irthing Valley and just 300 yards from the Hadrian's Wall National Trail at Birdoswald in Cumbria, this listed 16th century fortified farmhouse, or 'bastle', has three letting rooms. All are ensuite or with a private bathroom and there is a lounge and library for guests. With 1 acre of gardens and ample parking we provide comfort and a warm welcome for all who visit this historic and beautiful Scottish Borders area on the edge of Northumberland / Northumbria.

Where to visit, where to walk or cycle; drying facilities, discounts for three nights or more and for parties. Luggage transfer for walkers or cyclists, prior or onward accommodation can be arranged along with packed lunches as long as you give us warning! We can also put you in touch with a Walking Company who can organise walking holidays from accommodation to accommodation, complete with maps and walks.
