Enjoying an enviable and peaceful location, affording lovely lake and country views, these attractive villa style detached stone cottages sit only 200 yards from the beautiful lakeside perimeter walking/cycle track. The lake's visitor centre (1˝ miles) offers an excellent range of water sports activities including sailing (RYA tuition available), windsurfing, canoeing and fishing, and also an adventure playground, restaurant, café and craft shops. Wirksworth village, just 2 miles away, boasts a number of dining pubs, restaurants, cafés and takeaways as well as a vibrant arts festival held in August/September. Glorious countryside with wonderful opportunities for bird watching is all around and the myriad delights of the Peak District are readily accessible. Pony trekking and cycling on the Tissington Trail (2 miles), Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Kedleston Hall (N.T.), Castle Caverns, Crich Tramway Museum, the Heights of Abraham cable cars, Alton Towers and the picturesque towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne are all within easy reach.
