Worcestershire’s Heritage Garden consists of Evesham, a bustling market town, which stands on the River Avon, which is one of the main attractions. Fishing, boating and other seasonal events are popular past times, such as The Sprint Regatta and the River Festival.
Evesham Town Centre has a range of shops, including the recently opened Riverside Shopping Centre. Evesham is rich in history and this is reflected in The Almonry Heritage Centre, which has a dedicated display to local history (this is also the Tourist Information Centre).
Between late March and mid May the Vale of Evesham becomes a haven for the senses as the most prestigious events within the Vale occurs..The Spring Blossom Trail. This has been developed in enable the visitor to tour some of the prettiest roads and lanes in the area.
Pershore famed for its Georgian architecture is also situated on the River Avon. With a variety of shops, a covered retail market and the famous Abbey, Pershore is certainly impressive.
The Spa town of Droitwich has established fame throughout history due to the brine baths. The natural brine contains 2.5 lbs. of salt per gallon – ten times stronger than seawater and rivaled only by the Dead Sea.
Broadway is the largest village within Worcestershire’s Heritage Garden and is reputed to be one of the most beautiful. The village is set in Cotswold stone and offers a wealth of unique art galleries, antique and craft shops. The village itself stands at the base of the 1026ft high Fish Hill, which is the highest point of the northern end of it Cotswold hills.
