Astwell Mill gives you a warm and relaxed welcome, ideal for the holiday maker and for the business traveler. The Mill is set in 37 acres of peaceful rolling countryside and includes a small spinney and 3 acres of mill pools. Astwell Mill has been kept and is presented with a great deal of pride - which is reflected in the four star rating given to it by the English Tourism Council. Three double rooms are fully equipped for the modern day traveller. Two offer views over the Astwell Mill lake. Astwell Mill provides the ideal base for visiting many historic places, or exploring the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside and villages as well as the Cotswolds. Astwell Mill is situated in the County of Northamptonshire, one mile from each of the two villages of Helmdon and Wappenham Wappenham is a small pretty village increasingly being known as the early home of Gilbert Scott (designer of the Albert Memorial). Several houses in the village, including the now privatised rectory, are attributed to him. The church was reorded by him and the simple Altar has designs similar to some of those in the memorial. There are picturesque walks around the village which also boasts a shop and post office which are becoming rarer in this part of the country. There are many local places of interest including, Silverstome Motor Racing Circuit (5 Miles Away) Sulgrave manor, Canons ashby, Stow Gardens, Castle Ashby House, Althorp House, Stoke Bruerne and Warwick Castle.
