Born 1904. Died 1991 - Welsh meteorologist.

Studied mathematics at Leeds University. Joined the Meteorological Office in 1928. Most famous paper was A Contribution to the Theory of Development (1947). Received International Meteorological Organisation prize in 1963 and Symons Gold Medal in 1955.
