Born 1927. Died 1988 - English aviator.

Gained pilotís licence in 1959. In 1966 she flew 31,000 miles in 33 days and 189 flying hours, longest solo flight in a single-engined plane. Flew solo from equator to equator over the North Pole. Wrote three books describing her career.
