Born on 24th of March 1964

Born 1964 - Scottish athlete.

Won the 10,000 metres gold medal in 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games. Won silver medal at 1988 Seoul Olympics. Won 1991 New York Marathon in fastest time for female debutant. Returned to racing after two knee operations but retired in 2001. Awarded MBE in 1992.
