James Rice

Born in Northampton, Northamptonshire
Born on 26th of September 1843
Died on 26th of April 1882

Rice studied at Queen’s College, Cambridge and was called to the bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1871, but his calling was literature, first as editor (and owner) of Once a Week, then as a novelist and short story writer, working in tandem with Walter Besant. More than a dozen books came out of their collaboration.
