Born 1872. Died 1912 Physician, naturalist, painter and explorer.

Read zoology before qualifying in medicine. Wilson took part in two British expeditions to Antarctica. Was one of the party of five men that reached the South Pole to find the pole had been claimed by Amundsen just days before. All five died during the return journey.
