Born 1717. Died 1791 - Welsh hymn writer, poet and prose writer.


Took his name from the town Pantycelyn. Spent life preaching on behalf of the Methodist movement. Regarded as one of the leaders of Welsh Methodism. Important hymn writer of Wales. Produced over 90 volumes of poetry.
