Born 1614. Died 1672 - English churchman and scientist.

Educated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford. Studied mathematics and mechanics though became a domestic chaplain. One of the founders of the Royal Society. Works include Discovery of World in the Moon (1628) and Discourse concerning a New Planet (1640).
